My husband and I went there recently for lunch on the recommendation of a local resident. There is nothing fancy about this restaurant, its your basic little Mexican restaurant. The food and service are good. They bring you a picture of water with little plastic drinking cups (like from back in the 70's, lol). The salsa is really good, we enjoyed it. I had bowl of the albondiga's soup, it was very good and definitely hit the spot on a cold January day. My husband had the Caldo de Res and he really enjoyed his meal as well.

My dad wanted to bring me to this restaurant and when I heard it was a hole in the wall that the locals like that meant one thing to me - authentic!
We pulled up to the dilapidated little building and parked right in front. We sat ourselves in the corner underneath the map of Mexico and we were promptly greeted by our server. All of the tables filled just after we sat down so it seemed we made it just in time. But this is not the type of place people wait outside for the next table.
We were served fresh salsas and chips and an old school Tupperware pitcher of water on our table.
I ordered the pozole, my dad ordered enchiladas.
The meal came out fast and looked good. We were given tortillas in a basket to go with our meal. I can't be sure but they tasted store bought. The pozole was okay. The broth was tasty. There was a lot of pork in it but the meat was dry. Every now and then I'd get a really good bite but it wasn't melt in your mouth delicious comfort soup. I got tired of chewing it. So I asked for a container to go. The server brought me a ladle from the kitchen and a 64oz styrofoam drink cup and lid.
I was clearly surprised by this and she asked if I wanted her to do it. I said yes please, I'm a little clumsy.... and she took my bowl away to do it for me. She seemed very put out even though she remained courteous.
As we waited I made the mistake of looking around... at the ground, at the walls, at the ceiling. I'm not convinced that it's the cleanest place I've ever been to.
So I'm like ehhhhhh about this place. I won't return on my own, and I wouldn't suggest it generally speaking. -

The food is ok, not the real authentic Mexican food you crave. I went in when the weather was cold and the place was as cold as outside. They bring out tortillas in a plate and they get cold right away, not good at all.

This place is a whole in the wall establishment. And I mean that in the best way possible. This place has the best food, authentic also. The people who work here are very nice. I will be coming back instead of going anywhere else.
